Dear Professor Kenneth Herrmann,
My name is Nguyen Van Hoa and I am a seriously wounded soldier. My daughter's name is Nguyen Thi Oanh and she is a seventh grade student. We live at the first hamlet Cam Vinh commune Cam Xuyen district.
As a result of the American Expansionist War, eight people in my family are victims of Agent Orange. My daughter and I are the most serious cases.
I enclosed a photograph of my daughter and me as evidence of the effects of war. I do hope that through this photograph the American government can understand thoroughly the great losses and persistent pains my family has endured for the defending our country. We badly need your generosity as well as your help so that we can reduce the difficulties we are facing. I hope for a brighter future for my children. I wish you health. Thank you very much.
Nguyen Van Hoa
