The Danang/Quang Nam Fund, Inc. is an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to provide direct aid to the poor and disabled in Danang City and Quang Nam Province in Vietnam. Many of those whom we help suffer because of the American use of Agent Orange and other dioxin-based defoliants during the US-Vietnam war.
Agent Orange, known as "da cam" in Vietnam, is a real and immediate issue in these central provinces. To learn more about what agent orange looks like, click here and watch the trailer for the independent documentary "Da Cam". There is much suffering, but you can help. So don't hesitate! When we asked for aid request letters from victims of the American use of dioxin during the late 1960's and early 70's, the Danang/Quang Nam Fund recieved almost 4,000 responses from families and individuals suffering and in need. Many were single mothers, some were whole families, all of them were struggling to cope with life after Agent Orange.
Learn more about these letters here.
In response to these letters and in collaboration with local Vietnamese Government agencies and American universities, not for profit organizations, individuals, and friends, the Danang/Quang Nam Fund has been able, since it's beginnings in 2001, to deliver over $100,000 in aid and services to over 13,000 people, including families with disabled children, the elderly, the poor, and the forgotten in the central city of Danang and it's sister province, Quang Nam.

LEPERS AND LUNACY:
AN AMERICAN IN VIETNAM TODAY
Ken Herrmann, Jr., a Vietnam War veteran and executive director of the Danang/Quang Nam Fund, recently completed Lepers and Lunacy: An American in Vietnam Today. This book is the account of a war veteran who returned to Viet Nam, only to discover that he had never really left. It is a gripping and true story of a both personal and professional struggle.
